Eric Propper is vice chairman of CIBC Private Wealth US and a senior relationship manager with 45 years of industry experience. In his role as senior relationship manager, Eric serves as a trusted advisor, delivering personalized investment and wealth management solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families and foundations that integrate their financial, estate, tax and philanthropic objectives. Eric is also an advisor to the firm’s leadership and a member of the CIBC Private Wealth Asset Allocation Committee.
Previously, Eric served as president of CIBC Private Wealth US from 2009-2023. Eric joined the firm in 1998 from J. Bush & Co., and previously spent 10 years with Shearson Lehman Brothers and E.F. Hutton & Co.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart College and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Florida Society of Security Analysts. Eric currently serves as the treasurer of the Dune Road Foundation and is a director of a privately held company. He previously served as a trustee for the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. He has also been featured in The Financial Times, CFA Institute Magazine, Private Asset Management, Family Wealth Report and Barron’s. Eric has also been recognized by Barron’s 8 times out of the last 9 years, including the 2024-2026 Barron’s Top Advisor Rankings by State.
