Manager, fixed income research and trading
James Murphy is a manager, fixed income research and trading at CIBC Private Wealth, with over five years of industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for conducting independent research of the fixed income market with an emphasis on municipal bonds, as well as trade order creation and execution for portfolios that cover a wide variety of mandates.
Prior to joining the firm, James served as a municipal bond portfolio manager at BNY Mellon Wealth Management where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of over 1,200 trust-managed municipal portfolios with $2 billion+ in AUM.
James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance with a minor in economics from the University of New Hampshire, and he is a graduate of the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.
