Senior Wealth Strategist
John Batterton is a senior wealth strategist at CIBC Private Wealth in New York with over 15 years of industry experience. In this role, he works closely with relationship managers to develop and implement estate and wealth transfer planning for clients as part of the firm’s integrated wealth management process.
Prior to joining the firm, John spent 14 years at Bank of America, Private Bank (formally U.S. Trust), most recently serving as a wealth strategies advisor, where he focused his efforts on estate planning, multigenerational wealth transfer, financial analysis and cash flow projections. He also previously worked at a law firm that specialized in estate planning, elder care and estate administration.
John is a graduate of Hofstra University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, where he served as President of the Psychology Honor Society (Psi Chi). He received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School.
John previously served as Secretary of the Committee on Estates and Gift Taxation for the New York City Bar Association.
