Business Development Officer
Mark Kane is a business development officer for CIBC Private Wealth. In this role, Mark fosters new and existing relationships with high net worth clients, family offices, foundations, endowments and key intermediaries. Additionally, he counsels entrepreneurs, corporate executives and business owners. As a dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Mark has developed a specialty in cross-border wealth planning.
Previously, he was a vice president at Bernstein Global Wealth Management, where he provided clients with guidance on various investment, wealth transfer, tax planning and philanthropic strategies.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Providence College and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship from Babson College. While at Providence, Mark was one of the starting goaltender’s for the Division I hockey team and was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team four years in a row. Mark also received the ‘Distinguished Scholar Award Winner 1996 to 1999’, the first Providence College hockey player to ever receive this award.
Mark holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) credential. He also serves on the Canadian Entrepreneurs of New England Financial Services Leadership Committee.
Mark’s philanthropic involvement includes serving on the Board of the American Heart Association as Board Chair for Boston, the Shelter Harbor Conservation Society where he organizes the annual fishing tournament for children, and Sisters at Heart, a non-profit his wife co-founded.
