Eric B. Propper
Eric Propper is the president of CIBC Private Wealth Management serving as head of CIBC Private Wealth’s Chicago office and working closely with the firm’s team executives throughout the US. Additionally, he serves on the CIBC US Operating Committee, CIBC Private Wealth Operating Committee, the Asset Allocation and Multi-Manager Investment Committees and is a director of CIBC Delaware Trust Company and CIBC Private Wealth Advisors. Eric also serves as a senior relationship manager, providing comprehensive portfolio and wealth management for high net worth individuals, families, foundations and endowments.
With over 35 years of industry experience, he joined the firm in 1998 from J. Bush & Co., and previously spent 10 years with Shearson Lehman Brothers and E.F. Hutton & Co.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart College and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Society Chicago.
Eric has served as a trustee for the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. He has also been featured in The Financial Times, CFA Institute Magazine, Private Asset Management, and Family Wealth Report, and was listed in Barron’s Top Advisor Rankings by State in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Additionally, in 2022, Eric received Family Wealth Report's award for Leading Individual - Multi-Family Office, which is a national award recognizing his long-standing leadership in the private wealth management industry.
