John Schmidt is a senior trust officer for CIBC Private Wealth Management, with more than 40 years of banking experience. In this role, he is responsible for trust and estate administration, as well as investment management oversight for high net worth client portfolios.
Prior to joining the firm, John spent over 20 years of his banking career at First Chicago Bank (now part of JPMorgan Chase), where he held various officer and management positions. Previously, John was a vice president, client service manager and senior trust administrator for the Investment Management Group at Bank One (now part of JPMorgan Chase).
John received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Illinois State University. He holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification and the Certified IRA Service Professional (CISP) certification from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB). John was also named a 2011 Five Star Wealth Manager by Chicago magazine.
