Martha Lufkin is a fiduciary advisor for CIBC Private Wealth Management, with more than 30 years of law firm and industry experience in trusts and estates. In this role, she works closely with the firm’s wealth strategies and relationship teams to provide fiduciary expertise and trust administration support, including trust review and acceptance, trust modifications and review of other discretionary matters. She also lends her expertise to the firm’s fiduciary committees.
Prior to joining the firm, Martha was a managing counsel for Wealth Management at BNY Mellon, N.A. Her previous experience includes advising clients on trust and estate administration and estate planning as of counsel attorney at Clark, Hunt, Ahern & Embry (now Gregg, Hunt, Ahern & Embry), Cambridge, MA, and as associate attorney at Shearman & Sterling, New York, and Bingham, Dana & Gould and Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge (now Locke Lord), Boston.
Martha earned a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude in political science from Yale University, an M.Litt. in politics from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar. She is a member of the Boston Bar Association. Martha has also published and lectured widely on legal issues for the art world, including art owners and museums.
