Club’s match and training shorts to feature CIBC’s logo; partnership includes sponsorship of Carolina Core FC Academy
CHICAGO, MAY 3, 2024—Carolina Core FC, an independent club in MLS NEXT Pro, today announced CIBC, a leading North American financial institution, as Carolina Core FC’s exclusive and official wealth management partner.
“It is an honor to have CIBC as the official wealth management partner of Carolina Core FC,” said Carolina Core FC Principal Owner Megan Oglesby. “Their mission for supporting individuals, families and communities aligns with ours. CIBC is continuously recognized as a top firm in the US wealth management industry, and I can tell you firsthand it is because of their people, who are dedicated to helping clients realize their ambitions, just as we are doing at Carolina Core FC through soccer.”
The multiyear agreement designates CIBC as an official signature sponsor and wealth management partner of Carolina Core FC. The CIBC logo will be prominently displayed on the front of the Carolina Core FC’s and CCFC Academy’s match and training shorts. CIBC will also be featured on the front of the Dream Team Walkout Kids’ tops. Local child athletes will be selected as part of the Dream Team and will walk out onto the field with the professional players for the national anthem and starting lineups.
“CIBC Private Wealth is pleased to support Carolina Core FC and CCFC Academy as the official wealth management partner during the team’s debut season and beyond,” said John S. “Jack” Markwalter, Jr., chief executive officer of CIBC Private Wealth, US. “This partnership demonstrates CIBC’s commitment to further strengthen our relationship with soccer fans from coast to coast while promoting the growth of the sport at a grassroots level.”
Scott Thompson, president of CIBC Family Office, US, also notes that, “CIBC is honored to support Megan Oglesby as the second female principal owner in North American pro soccer. Her passion for the community has paved the way for an exciting venture that extends far beyond the soccer field.”
CIBC will also serve as a multiyear partner with Carolina Core FC’s MLS NEXT program, CCFC Academy. The Academy will be a fully funded scholarship program, helping to remove boundaries to playing at the highest level for eligible players. The U13 and U14 CCFC Academy teams will begin playing in fall 2024 with the CIBC logo on the front of their match and training shorts, mirroring the professional team.
“We are excited to join forces with CIBC as Carolina Core FC’s official wealth management partner,” said Chris Baretta, chief revenue officer of Carolina Core FC. “Together, we will create a positive impact for players, fans and communities alike.”
