Senior Relationship Manager
Scot Tyson is a senior relationship manager for CIBC Private Wealth with more than 25 years of experience advising affluent clients on wealth creation and wealth transfer. He brings his background as an estate planning attorney to his current role of advising clients on all aspects of wealth management. Currently concentrating on building capital and generating income when appropriate, Scot helps families through the often-confusing process of wealth transfer planning as it impacts current investment decisions and portfolio construction. Prior to joining Geneva Advisors, which became part of CIBC in 2017, Scot spent seven years as a portfolio manager at William Blair & Company and seven years managing trust assets for high net worth families at Harris Bank in Chicago. Additionally, for six years, he was an attorney in the estate planning department of the law firms of SNR Denton and Jenner and Block. Scot holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics from Arizona State University, a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Juris Doctor degree from the Cornell Law School. Scot is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
