Lead Portfolio Manager, Energy Infrastructure
Paul McPheeters is the lead portfolio manager for CIBC Private Wealth’s Energy Infrastructure strategy, which he developed in 2003, and has more than 20 years of experience.
Paul also serves as a member of the CIBC Private Wealth US Operating Committee as well as assisting the firm’s other equity strategies. He developed the investment process for the CIBC Disciplined Equity Strategy, which he co-managed for nearly 10 years, helping to drive the strategy’s mutual fund to reach a five-star Morningstar rating in 2011. Paul’s other experience at the firm includes co-managing the Atlantic Trust Large-Cap Growth Portfolio for approximately three years as well as providing research and analysis on the energy, telecommunications and media sectors.
Additionally, prior to joining the firm in 1997, he was a senior analyst in the Valuation Services Group’s energy practice at Price Waterhouse LLP, performing business valuations for mergers and acquisitions, tax strategies, privatizations and various legal purposes.
Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
