Scott Thompson is the president of CIBC Family Office. In this role, Scott leads our growing family office business in addition to continuing to serve clients as a senior relationship manager. He also serves on the firm’s Trust Committee and the CIBC Private Wealth Operating Committee.
Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Scott was a senior manager in the high net worth division of Wachovia Bank and a trust and investment officer with Virginia Commonwealth Trust Company.
He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from James Madison University, and he is a graduate of the Southeastern Trust School of Campbell University and the ABA National Graduate Trust School. Scott holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification.
Scott currently sits on the board of directors for the Center for Christianity and Scholarship at Duke University. He has held various leadership positions within the Anglican and Presbyterian churches and has volunteered with Pace Academy and the Boy Scouts of America.
