William J. Hansen

Managing Director and Mortgage Group Product Manager

Bill Hansen is a group portfolio manager for Mortgage Banking at CIBC Private Wealth, with more than 15 years of industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for working with mortgage loan bankers and private bankers during the origination process to ensure appropriate loan positioning per credit policy and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, William monitors the progress of the loan files in order to navigate the files through the credit approval process. He acts as a liaison with Credit Risk Management, Consumer Risk and the Loss Mitigation Teams to identify and address bottlenecks and issues in moving a file through the credit review and loan closing process.

Previously, William served as a senior underwriter in Consumer Lending Fulfillment at CIBC for nine years. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for nine years as both a broker and underwriter of lawyers professional liability insurance. He also worked in consumer lending at other institutions and as an assistant team manager and senior underwriter for the Full Spectrum Lending division of Countrywide Home Loans.

William earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Northern Illinois.
