David J. Simon

David Simon is an underwriter III at CIBC Private Wealth, with over 10 years of industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for loan structuring, conducting due diligence, preparing loan presentations, and underwriting Private Wealth underwriting requests provided by private bankers. He also has various credit responsibilities for the Private Wealth Portfolio. ​

Prior to joining the firm, David served as a special assets group portfolio manager at Fifth Third Bank, where he managed a portfolio of commercial loans with total exposure of $20 million. ​

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Central Michigan University and an Associate’s degree in business administration from Grand Rapids Community College. David was an active member in the Fifth Third Young Bankers Club and the Fifth Third Employee Engagement Committee. He was awarded the 2016 Horizon Award at Fifth Third Bank.
