Doug Tran

Doug Tran is a front office controls advisor at CIBC Private Wealth with over 25 years of financial services industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for facilitating and fielding risk management-related requests and initiatives and developing action plans, working with Governance & Controls teams, Independent Risk Management, and Audit to manage the front office processes. Doug serves as the Line of Business Training Coordinator Head to establish/facilitate/monitor business-specific procedural training and maintenance, audit/exam support, exception tracking and reporting. He advises the various front office teams on process and procedure updates.​

Prior to joining the firm, Doug was a supervisor at Calamos Investments where he worked in operations for 12 years for Wealth Management department and 5 years for Fund Administration department. Previously, he was at the Northern Trust Company for 10 years working as an investment performance analyst, fund accountant, and sr. portfolio accounting analyst. He also worked at First Chicago Bank and at American National Bank and Trust Company.​

Doug earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from DePaul University and is a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
