Theresa M.H. Marx

Theresa Marx is a senior wealth strategist for CIBC Private Wealth in Chicago, with 20 years of industry experience. In this role, she is responsible for developing integrated wealth management solutions and providing comprehensive estate and financial planning services to high-net-worth clients.​

Prior to joining the firm, Theresa was senior counsel for BMO Harris Bank N.A., where she worked closely with senior management and trust professionals on fiduciary and estate planning issues.  Previously, Theresa was a partner and, earlier, an associate at Schiff Hardin LLP, where she focused her practice on estate planning for high-net-worth individuals. Her practice at Schiff Hardin included multi-generational planning, international estate planning, business succession planning, and working closely with clients and their advisors to implement a variety of wealth transfer strategies.​

Theresa received a Bachelor of Science in secondary education (mathematics), summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. ​

She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, where she also serves on the Executive Committee for the Trust Law Committee. Additionally, Leading Lawyers included Theresa on its 2015 emerging lawyers℠ list.
