Wilma Otero

Managing Director

Wilma Otero is a managing director at CIBC Private Wealth, with over 20 years of industry experience. In this role, she is responsible for confidential (Regulation O) relationship management, select employee accounts and external clients. She provides high-level, responsive service to all requests, and she serves as the executive assistant to the head of private banking for the US region, assisting others within the team. Some of Wilma’s other responsibilities include: overseeing payroll functions, coordinating marketing, providing general support as needed, ensuring office efficiency and onboarding new employees.

Prior to joining the firm, Wilma served as a trust associate at LaSalle Bank, N.A., where she initiated appropriate account activity with respect to account setup and ongoing account administration.

Wilma is an active participant in the Private Banking Employee Engagement Committee, in addition to the CIBC Latin Network.

Wilma earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with a minor in human resources development, magna cum laude, from Northeastern Illinois University.

In 2017, she was honored with the Key Contributor Award, and in 2018, she was awarded the PWM Achiever award.
