Jack Markwalter Named One of Atlanta's Most Admired CEOs

John S. "Jack" Markwalter, Jr., CEO of CIBC Private Wealth Management, U.S. has been named one of Atlanta's Most Admired CEOs by The Atlanta Business Chronicle.

During his 15-year tenure as Chairman and CEO of CIBC Private Wealth, Jack has worked tirelessly to grow CIBC’s U.S. private wealth management business from $8B to approximately $58B in AUMA (as of June 30, 2019) through recent acquisitions, organic growth initiatives, and client additions and retention. Through the firm’s evolution, he has steadfastly maintained the firm’s client-centric focus, consistent delivery of the highest-quality client experience and culture of collegiality, and in 2018, in recognition of his leadership of one of the premier private wealth firms in North America, he was named Leading Individual (Multi-Family Office) by Family Wealth Report (FWR). 

The Most Admired CEO award was bestowed to Atlanta-based CEOs who have demonstrated a strong record of innovation, outstanding financial performance, a commitment to diversity in the workplace and who has made significant contributions to the metro community. Jack attributes his personal success to the strong work ethic, leadership and technical skills he developed throughout his career, as well as the advice he received from his mentors. Consequently, he feels a deep obligation to give back so that others can share this experience, achieve their own success, and be able to strengthen society. He calls this the “virtuous circle.”

The award recognizes an individual working in the private client world.
