Amit Dhawan is a senior relationship manager. He has been serving clients for over 20 years.  His advisory-based approach focuses on all aspects of his clients’ needs, which include investment management, financial planning and trust and estate planning.

Amit was the chief operating officer for Geneva Advisors until the company became part of CIBC in 2017.  Before joining Geneva Advisors in 2003, he was an equity research analyst within the William Blair & Company technology group. Prior to receiving a Master of Business Administration in finance with distinction from Cornell University, Amit worked in the wireless industry for three years, where he spearheaded a group at Motorola that reverse-designed cell phones. 

Amit earned his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated at the top of his undergraduate class and was awarded the Bronze Tablet, the university’s highest recognition for academic excellence. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® certification. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
