Allen Smith is a senior relationship manager for CIBC Private Wealth with more than 35 years of experience in the investment industry advising both institutional and individual investors. As a trusted investment advisor, Allen works with a select group of successful individuals and families, providing them with customized and comprehensive investment & wealth management solutions.

Prior to joining Geneva Advisors, which became part of CIBC in 2017, Allen spent nine years at Jefferies & Co as a senior vice president, where he advised institutional clients, including private investment management firms, mutual funds, banks, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices and hedge funds. He also spent eight years in a similar capacity at Robertson Stephens as a managing director and 12 years at Kidder, Peabody & Co as a senior vice president. His background in equity research sales, equity trading and equity capital markets give him strong market, industry and company-specific knowledge.

Allen received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in economics from DePauw University and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from Texas Christian University.
