Barry Hoy is director of counterparty and investment risk for CIBC Private Wealth Management, with 17 years of industry experience.

In his current role, he is responsible for managing the firm’s risk management platform, including assessing the effectiveness of controls surrounding the firm’s investment process and implementing additional risk management programs throughout the business.

Previously, Barry was the director of program management and business risk for CIBC Wood Gundy in Toronto, where he provided leadership and direction for the development and ongoing management of programs affiliated with regulatory affairs and business risk.

He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®, Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Project Management Professional (PMP) and Canada’s Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designations.
