Managing Director
Dave Donabedian is a senior investment strategist for CIBC Private Wealth with over 35 years of industry experience. In this role, he acts as a senior investment resource to key clients and prospects and contributes to the firm’s asset allocation strategy. He serves on the Multi-Manager Investment Committee, the Asset Allocation Committee, and is a member of the CIBC Private Wealth Operating Committee.
Previously, Dave served as CIBC Private Wealth’s Chief Investment Officer from 2009-2025. Prior to becoming CIO, Dave served in a similar capacity at Ashbridge LLC, a Philadelphia-based multi-family office.
Dave received a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University with a concentration in finance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
As a leading investment expert, Dave frequently appears on television networks, including CNBC and Bloomberg Television, and provides insights in publications such as Barron's and The Wall Street Journal. In 2026, Private Asset Management honored Dave with the Lifetime Achievement award, and he was recognized with the Outstanding Chief Investment Officer (CIO) award by Family Wealth Report in 2025.
