Eric Propper is vice chairman of CIBC Private Wealth US, with more than 40 years of industry experience.
Eric served as president of CIBC Private Wealth US for 14 years (2009-2023). He continues to serve as a senior relationship manager, providing comprehensive portfolio and wealth management for high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations, and endowments. Eric also is an advisor to the firm’s leadership and is a member of the CIBC Private Wealth Asset Allocation and Multi-Manager Investment Committees.
He joined the firm in 1998 from J. Bush & Co., and previously spent 10 years with Shearson Lehman Brothers and E.F. Hutton & Co.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart College and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Florida Society of Security Analysts.
Eric currently is treasurer of the Dune Road Foundation and a director of a privately held company. He has also been featured in The Financial Times, CFA Institute Magazine, Private Asset Management, and Family Wealth Report, and Barron’s. In 2022, Eric received Family Wealth Report's award for Leading Individual - Multi-Family Office, which is a national award recognizing his long-standing leadership in the private wealth management industry. In 2024, Eric again appeared in Barron’s America's Top Advisor Rankings.
