Mark D. Schmidt

Managing Director

Mark Schmidt is a private banker for CIBC Private Wealth Management, with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry performing commercial underwriting, relationship management and loan restructuring. In this role, Mark works with high net worth individuals and families on a wide range of banking matters, including complex credit and cash solutions, while focused on financial planning and best practices to preserve, manage, and transfer wealth for current and future generations.

Prior to joining the firm, Mark served in several roles at Bank of America, most recently as a vice president within the Bank’s Special Assets Group managing a portfolio of troubled business loans.  Previously, he was an assistant vice president at Bank of America (now Merrill Lynch), where he held various positions within the commercial leasing and mortgage groups.

Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration degree, with honors, from Loyola University of Chicago.
