Emory W. (Sandy) Sanders, Jr. is a senior portfolio manager for CIBC’s All Cap Growth and Large Cap Growth Strategies with over 25 years of investment industry experience.

Prior to joining the firm, Sandy was team leader for the US Core Value Team at Manulife Investment Management in Boston, where he served as lead portfolio manager, overseeing $32 billion in US equity assets (as of December 2024) across a broad spectrum of core and value-oriented strategies. Under his leadership, the team achieved top-decile performance and significant asset growth, and his responsibilities included portfolio construction, team strategy, investment process implementation and client communications. He provided tailored investment solutions to a diverse client base, including institutions, sovereign wealth funds and high-net-worth individuals.

Previously, Sandy was a co-portfolio manager at Wells Capital Management and Evergreen Investments, where he managed large-cap core and value strategies and specialized as a senior research analyst covering the technology and consumer sectors.

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science in forest biology with a minor in wildlife biology from the University of Vermont, where he was recognized for academic achievement and leadership. Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS).
