Chief Operating Officer, U.S. Private Wealth, and Head of U.S. Capital Markets
Scott Wilson is chief operating officer, U.S. Private Wealth Management, and head of U.S. capital markets. In these roles, he oversees the management and development of the operating platform, as the business focuses on material growth while maintaining its high level of client service. He is also responsible for strategic vision, oversight and growth for all CIBC capital markets activities in the U.S. region. Scott serves on the CIBC U.S. Region Executive Committee, the Global Capital Markets Management Committee and CIBC Private Wealth’s Operating Committee.
Prior to joining CIBC’s U.S. team, Scott led CIBC’s wholesale banking activities in Europe and served as chief administrative officer for global Wholesale Banking. Previously, Scott was head of legal and Compliance for CIBC’s Asia-Pacific and Europe regions.
Scott began his career as a lawyer in Washington, D.C., working as a legal and regulatory advisor. He holds a Juris Doctorate from UCLA’s School of Law, as well as a Master of Business Administration issued jointly from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, and is a member of the California Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association.
Scott is a board member of Seacology, a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect the unique habitats and cultures of islands worldwide.
