William T. Norris
Team Executive – Boston Private Wealth
Bill Norris is Team Executive for CIBC Private Wealth Boston office. In this role he works closely with Relationship Managers and clients in the New England market.
Bill is the former chief investment officer for CIBC Bank USA and is a member of CIBC Private Wealth Management’s Asset Allocation Committee and Investment Policy Committee. Bill also serves as Relationship Manager for many high net worth clients of CIBC Private Wealth Group. Bill has more than 36 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining CIBC Bank USA (formerly The PrivateBank, which became part of CIBC in 2017), Bill served as managing director and chief fiduciary investment officer for JPMorgan Chase’s Private Bank Fiduciary Group, where he was responsible for overseeing all investment activities for trust clients of the firm in the United States, Europe and the Bahamas. He served in this role from 2005 until 2010, reporting into the Global Head of Fiduciary for JPMorgan Chase.
Previously, Bill was the National Head of Portfolio Management for Banc One Investment Advisors (BOIA), overseeing portfolio activities across the U.S. and serving concurrently as a member of the Banc One Investment Advisors investment and asset allocation committees. He was also a director at Banc One Investment Advisors until that entity merged with JPMorgan Chase in 2004. Bill began his career in 1981 at the First National Bank of Chicago.
Bill received a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance, cum laude, from North Central College in Naperville, IL. He is a member of the board of directors for the Jazz Institute of Chicago and the Fiduciary & Investment Risk Management Association (FIRMA).
